About the Project:
Overview: This microlearning was created to help Google Chrome users clear both cache and cookies in their browser. It gives quick, step-by-step directions, while giving a brief explanation of each. The goal was to provide a quick reference that could be referred to at any time.
Problem: When your browser begins giving you a 'low memory' warning or when websites stop loading correctly and quickly, it is time to clear your browser's cache and cookies. Most people do not do this often, and may not remember the steps to do this.
Solution: A quick microlearning, that can be bookmarked for future reference, can remind Google Chrome users how to easily clear both their cache and cookies.
Takeaways: After sharing this microlearning with others, it became clear that this could be turned into a larger series of microlearnings, perhaps a week-long series of trainings. Topics such as:
-What is cache?
-What are cookies?
-What are the benefits of clearing them?
-What happens to your device after clearing them?
I also enjoyed using 7Taps and can see it being a worthwhile tool if used consistently. It did not have the customization I was hoping to see, so I look forward to seeing what new microlearning tools will become available in the future.
